DeeperBlue.net

At the start of each development we normally have to go through a learning curve with each new client. We need to study and understand how their business operates and in turn the client has to come to an understanding of how the web can best benefit what they do.

However that certainly wasn't the case with DeeperBlue. Stephan Whelan and his editorial staff had run a thriving online content business since 1998, publishing mountains of articles, tutorials, news and tips to an audience of fanatical divers and underwater aficionados.

Stephan had the audience, the reputation and the writers. Our challenge was to construct an intelligent, automated system capable ease the burden of coordinating the multiple content streams flowing into the site from across the globe.

The site features:

  • Multi-tiered user management (Publishers/editors/authors/etc)
  • Instant author feedback controls
  • Flexible and editable category/subcategory structure
  • WYSIWYG content management for authors
  • Gear sales focused promotional spots
  • Forum integration

Designing for the Web

Web design is important, but usability is king.

The design of your website, sometimes referred to as its "look and feel", says much about your company, but the key to ensuring that your users get the most out of your site is to also ensure uncompromising attention to usability.

SitePoint has extensive real-world experience of what works on the Web -- and what doesn't.

Our Front End Interface Development process is divided into three distinct stages:

  1. Information Architecture
  2. Design
  3. Production
