Case Study: Burra Foods Intranet/Extranet
In addition to many of the elements from the Depot intranet product suite, a number of project-specific tools were created for Burra Foods' suppliers (dairy farmers in eastern Victoria, Australia).
The results of laboratory tests are uploaded in XML format to the iBurra server by lab technicians, as they become available.
Suppliers can log in to the extranet at any time to view their production statistics, and monitor changes in production relative to historical data.
Suppliers are alerted via SMS, fax, or email as soon as their milk results fall outside their individually-set milk result parameters.
Each supplier also has access to farm-specific financial information, which enables suppliers to review past performance, and anticipate future payments.
