Web Interface Design
Why is web site design and branding so crucial?
You usually only get one shot at it! When a visitor arrives at your web site, they size you up in seconds and decide whether they want to deal with you based on the impact and effectiveness your web site, and subtle cues projected by your branding. Your web site design is crucial both in a creative sense, and for usability.
If a visitor to your web site (potential customer!) can't find what they need, they'll go and find a web site which is easier to navigate. Or maybe your branding doesn't convey the professionalism they need.
As an effective business tool, your web site should meet defined objectives and produce tangible results.
Interface design underpins these goals.
How do SitePoint turn visitors into happy customers?
The SitePoint team has many years’ experience in the design of commercial and community-oriented Web sites. Our designers are conscious of each client’s branding requirements, and know how best to translate your identity to an online format.
But our design skills far exceed the purely aesthetic.
Usability is the first priority for every web design project that SitePoint undertakes. We also pride ourselves on creating websites that have excellent accessibility ratings. Accessibility is fast becoming a business imperative, as the Internet becomes critical to business communications and the delivery of products and services to customers.
Our clients benefit from SitePoint’s stringent approach to cross-browser compatibility testing. We guarantee careful consideration for every browser and platform combination in use.
Case Study: Commander Systems
In 2003, Commander undertook a comprehensive re-branding exercise. While the re-branding was a huge success, Commander felt the need to seek expert consultation to get more out of their website. They chose SitePoint for the task!
Products Area
A redesign of the site's products area was the major impetus for the project. Greater customer appeal, a stronger focus on sales, and improved usability were the project's goals.
SitePoint's work on the project was so successful that Commander extended the contract to have SitePoint redesign the site's homepage and navigation system.
Homepage
Commander identified the key elements they wanted to see on the homepage, and SitePoint produced a design that not only looks great, but communicates effectively, too.
Navigation System
A consistent and intuitive navigation system was required across the site. Commander also wanted the flexibility to easily extend this base navigation to include sub-navigation as required. SitePoint delivered!
"Commander appointed SitePoint after a panel of designers were asked to submit concepts on the design, interactivity and usability of the product area of the Commander website.
SitePoint clearly stood out from the rest, demonstrating their wide array of talent and experience by presenting a design that satisfied all of our requirements.
We are very excited to be working with SitePoint on this project and look forward to building an ongoing working relationship with them in future projects."
